Ok changed my oil like a week ago and right after I changed the oil I got codes about exhaust cam being to retarded!
Found it weird that it was like first start after oil change. I used a Mann filter changed both rubber gaskets and used Mobile 1 oil.
Thought maybe something got caught up in one of the VANOS solenoids so I took them out cleaned then and also took out both cam sensors and cleaned them as well!
Any chance maybe the VANOS solenoids or the one at least just went for a poop or there was something wrong with the oil filter or one of the rubber gaskets?
I already ordered new VANOS 2 of them so to change them both and they are OEM BMW.
I did have a slight misfire before that I was chasing but didnt have codes or a chance to chase it down so I was kinda thinking that maybe it was the VANOS all along and it just finally craped the bed??
