I wanted to share a few modifications/tips I made when installing my VTT single shotgun kit on my e90. Please note, this is the way I chose to do it and not saying there is anything wrong with the kit out the box. I am picky and prefer as factory like fit and finish as possible.
First the power steering hose, the instructions have you bend the stock line to clear. I was not a fan of this so went looking for a replacement hose that would work. After lots of looking, I ended up using Rein PSH0240 (32416796391). It comes from an e46 XI for those that are looking for a used hose. This allows you to remove the old hose bolt this up and go. I can't seem to find any pictures, but I used a heat shrink woven sleeve to help with abrasion.

The next modification I made was to the heater hose. My car is a manual transmission, so this will likely not apply to auto cars. I was not a huge fan of how VTT did it. I will say I have one extra connection in my setup. I used the combination of the stock hose, Gates 19606 and Gates 28478. For the connections I used ITC billet 3/4 aluminum joiners and Gates powergrip clamps. Once finished, I used woven heat shrink for a factory look and good abrasion resistance. I can't seem to find pictures installed but it fit great and looked very OE.

The last change I made was the belt. When reinstalling my front inlet I had contact with the tensioner pulley. I knew that it was not even close before, so began investigating. After looking at pictures of a stock setup the tensioner pulley was at least 1" to the left with the shotgun setup. The stock belt is 7PK1855 and the one provided in the kit was 7PK1860 , only 5mm longer. I found it to be to short and the belt tensioner was almost max out. After trying few different belts from the local parts store I found that they were either too long or too short. I did some measuring and lots of looking online I was able to find a Gates 7pk1888 belt. The downside it was only available overseas. I ordered one from ebay and it fit perfect. The tensioner was back to the factory location.
If any one has any questions just let me know! I have since moved to PI (I found a killer local deal and changed my power goals) so can't really provide any additional pics. Hopefully this helps others that are looking to install a shotgun kit!
