Hi guys
It's been a while since I posted and a lot has changed, I've now forged my engine with lower compression JE pistions as well as FCP rods and am running port methanol as well as charge pipe meth, totalling 2000cc per min (give or take). (also perhaps relevant SMF manual car (if that's contributing to any false knock by vibration).
I am still getting a fckton of timing corrections. Whenever I hit around 6000rpm and to redline it pulls across all cylinders, sometimes around -5.
This isn't caused by the forged block running looser clearances or different metals, because it was identical before the rebuild.
Injectors are new, coils are new, plugs are new. Walbro 450 on the lpfp, rail pressure is fine.
I'm also running 80% methanol- yes 80%. IAT is just around 10c...... so what the $#@! is it?
It's seriously limiting my tuning potential. I'm running around 24psi (on larger turbos) and targetting 8.1 degrees timing advance which should be fine for the meth quantity.
Mapping with Pureboost. I did run this by Ken from Wedge who suggested reducing knock sensitivity but as this happened prior to the forged build I'm not convinced it's false knock and don't want to blow anything. (also reading Tony from Vargas' previous threads about many engines with cracked ring lands as soon as he de-sensitised the knock tables)
Advice guys??
