N54: ever see a rear main seal pushed completely out of the housing?

just over 200k mi on my 335 and it has decided to start throwing oil everywhere

I can see that the RMS has been pushed out of its housing and is up against the flywheel

I am wondering if anyone's seen this before, if it's a common failure for the rear mains - or if this is just terminal blowby

my PCV is just a hose dumping from the valve cover outlet to the ground, have been running this for about 30k miles (since swapping turbos)
