I`m nearly finished (some adjustments on lower load may need a bit finetuning, but for the power we are done -g-) the eTune process with Dzenno from protuningfreaks and here is my review and the dyno numbers.
My 135i:
Transmission: 6AT (with Alpina TCU flash)
Octane: 102 ROZ
Start OTS MAP: Stage2+ Aggressive
Mods:
- AR Design Catless Black coated Downpipes
- AMS Intercooler
- BMW Performance Exhaust
- BMS DCI
Not for the power but for a stable setup:
- Forge DV
- ER Chargepipe
NO Meth
NO e85
just straight 102octane (German 102ROZ)
1.) The Process
after Dzenno answered all my open questions related to the eTune we started with map v1.
The first ptf map load took about 10-15minutes, but on the next versions the load took the same time as a normal map change (~1Minute).
I drove the car carefully until it was warm (as always), as my oil reached the 100°C (212°F) I was going to some WOT.
And it was disappointing, the car was bucking heavy in higher gears. I thought about some Hardware failure... As I reported that to Dzenno he was sure that this should be the limit of my AT.
I got the option to work around this (I think with less torque in lower rpms) or to get the Alpina TCU Flash. As I already planned to do the TCU flash the next day I was happy with that replay from Dzenno, since I couldnt really imagine that the v1 directly is to much power for the AT...
The next day I drove to a friend to get the TCU flashed, on the way I was only able to pull around 50% of throttle without bucking... After the TCU flash the car run very smooth and powerful, bucking was completely fixed ;-)
with that we managed to go into some more versions and every version had more power than the one before ;-)
I checked the logs myself with Virtual Dyno to see the changes.

2.) Throttle Mapping
We also worked on the throttle mapping, at first I was quiet sure that I want the Linearthrottle mapping as I had it with Stage2+. Dzenno changed it to Stock Throttle after the TCU flash.
And from my side I think the Linearthottle is not that great with the alpina tcu flash as with the oem tcu software... the shiftpoint at 1600rpm was not a good combination with the linear mapping.
As I tried the stockthorttle mapping it was much better to drive. My 135i is no track toy it`s my daily driver, so while driving in the traffic the throttle mapping was very important to me...
on the stock mapping with Stage 1+ it was a pain as the car really pulls forward even when I just touch the gas pedal a bit... Linear war much better but as I already said with the alpina flash it does not suit for me anymore.
We also changed the mapping a few times... We hat a mapping that was nice to drive in the traffic but I recognized that when I start the car in the morning and drive out of my underground garage (long hill to drive up) I can choose between very slow or hearing my turbos spool... that was something Dzenno worked with my special requests perfectly.
now we finished with a (for me) PERFECT throttle mapping, oh I mean throttle mappings ;-)
Throttle Mapping in D mode -> an alternative Stock Throttle which fit to my needs in traffic.
Throttle Mapping in DS -> an alternative Linear Throttle
I can drive the car perfectly smooth in the traffic and in normal driving condition, If I want to have some fun the Linear throttle in DS is really great and much better so handle during hard cornering than the mapping in D Mode.
3.) Power
just from the feeling it feels a lot smoother than the OTS maps and soooo much more torque, in the higher rpms I difference was also very noticeable.
Hard to explain how well I like the etune over the OTS but I can show you some dyno numbers ;-)

let me explain the German dyno sheet a bit.
In Germany the only horsepower number which matters (in comparison with others or to manufactures information) is horsepower at the engine (flywheel).
so the dyno numbers are
461,6 HP at fly
688Nm -> 507 lb/ft
the dip between 2200 and 3000rpm shown by the red (torque) line should be grip lose on the dyno.
The Car was fixed with 6 tension belts and a men in the trunk, they was not able to get a measurement in the 4th gear as to much grip lose.
this measurement is in the 5th gear with the same tension belts and a men in the trunk.
normal Stage2+ OTS dynosheets here in Germany (not many here) are around 410-420hp at the fly and around 460lb/ft
4.) Conclusion
I`m a happy customer ;-) the communication was/is very good with Dzenno he takes his time to work with the logs/maps and to answer all upcoming questions and I know he is very busy with other projects.
The Power is really awesome, never expected that much from a etune ;-)
and for me it`s now a pleasure to drive with the new throttle mappings, I never was really happy with stockthrottle or linearthrottle as they come stock or with the OTS maps.
I think for the price it`s a must have... and I can recommend this to every FBO driver ;-)
