In 40 degrees or lower ambient temps, with an aftermarket intercooler, running E50+ fuel, what suppresses knock better, water or meth?
I've read that the high latent heat of vaporization (in cylinder) is far more effective at knock suppression than the effective octane of the fuel being injected.
So it has me wondering.. if you're after knock suppression, would trying mixtures under 50% meth/water be beneficial?
I saw a thread started by Terry about trying 35% meth/water, but I cannot find the followup to his dyno testing.
Also, I can only assume his dyno testing was NOT done in 40f ambient temps, nor was it done with ethanol fuel mixtures, nor was it done running a backend flash.
