I was just wondering if anyone had an advice regarding the use usefulness of fuel injector cleaning. I'm talking proper cleaning, not running Techron or another fuel system cleaner through etc.
I've recently started noticing some quite severe stumbling at around 1500-2000RPMs when accelerating from 2nd gear and up. Past that it seems quite fine. My car only has 60,000kms on it and I've been running E50 for maybe the past 4,000-5000kms with a Stage 2 Fuel-It.
The car has always had an issue with uneven fuel distribution since I purchased it about 2 years ago with 30,000kms on the clock, whether with 98RON or E50 and when I changed to RBs about 5,000kms ago I also had all 4 O2 sensors replaced.
I've gotten a quote of AUD$550 to R&R all 6 fuel injectors, clean them and test them for flow/spray by a fuel injector specialist. My alternative would be to buy maybe all 6 new injectors and have them installed at a total cost of around $1500.
