So after 97k miles and lots of abuse, i decided to upgrade my 6at trans. i bought a transmission already built up by level 10 (torque converter and valve body), and upon having my installer (a bmw master tech) get down to business with it, he discovered something strange. My car is a feb 08 build, and the trans is an 11/07 build (alpina flash capable), and the trans bolts up to the engine just fine, but there is a gap between the converter and the flex plate. he took this picture and sent it to me. anybody installed one of these and can make any sense of it? Right now, we are thinking it may be that the wrong torque converter was put in the trans or something....so until i can get a call into level 10 tomorrow, car is just sitting on the lift.
