Well, the car has 2,500 miles on it and its time to start modding. I went with the same set up as my last 335i because I was very happy with the results. Jumped on the Helix FMIC group buy, took advantage of the AR dps from BMS, snagged a BMS DCI, and a used COBB.
I am scheduled to have them installed the morning of 19th and am doing some before and after dynos. My plan is to do the standard stock pull and then several stage 1 aggressive pulls on my completely stock car scheduled on the 17th. Then I am scheduled back on the dyno again the afternoon of the 19th. I will do several pulls on stage 2+ aggressive, then drop in some E85 and do several pulls on the new race maps.
Lastly, and if there is time, I will thinking about doing a comparison of results on the race maps with stock box and filter and stock box and AFE filter to compare back to the DCI set up. Is it worth it though? Most say the results on this on the dyno dont match up to the road so its not worth the effort.
Any tweaks or suggestions for this plan?
Also, is there any difference between dynoing a 2011 335is vs. a 2008? I assume not, but just confirming.
The weather will be cooler here than a lot of dynos, so should I have them run it STD and 5 smoothing. Its a dynojet.
Cheers,
James
